The rules for the fish-off will be gone over and any questions will be answered. Once all discussions have been completed, teams will be released and anglers can immediately start to fish when they leave Riverside Cafe. Your team has the option to start fishing at any time you wish to. Once you start fishing, the event rules apply.

EVENT RULES- (may change after winter of 2012)

Eligible species in the 2-fish fish-off are-
One Redfish: no less than 18” and no greater than 27” (pinched tail). One Trout: No less than 20” (pinched tail).

Bonus fish is one Snook: no less than 28” and no greater than 32” (pinched tail) and must be live at weigh-in.

Each team is allotted “one fish per species” to weigh in. Only live and dead trout and redfish will be eligible to
obtain a weight measurement. In the bonus snook category, all snook must be live at time of weigh-in.

Dead fish as described in the 2011 FLFA rules will be assessed a “one-pound dead fish penalty” that will be subtracted from the weight of the fish.

All teams participating in the event must make known to the FLFA their cell phone number(s) so that the FLFA
board can contact them during the event.

While any team is fishing during the event, their vessel must remain 25 feet or more from another vessel or
wade fishing angler while on the flats or fishing docks and/or bridges. Exempt from this rule is- the ICW, Fort
Pierce & Sebastian Inlet channels, a team is involved in an emergency situation and/or the participating
angler(s) is rendering aid to another angler or vessel in an emergency situation. The FLFA board must be
contacted via cell phone if any fish-off teams are involved in the above situations.

All slow speed, no wake and manatee zones must be adhered to!

Fishing boundaries for vessels are – North line is the Merritt Island Causeway (CR-520). South line is the
southernmost point of land on Sewells Point. East line is the A1A Bridge at the Sebastian Inlet and the east end
of the no wake zone of the Ft. Pierce Inlet. No western boundary, but must remain on the East Coast of Florida.

All vessels must remain in the water and cannot make ground while the event is in progress. Participants are not
allowed to leave their vessel for land. Exceptions are- to wadefish or set foot onto a spoil island. Do not “touch”
the east or west shore/docks/ramps above water level from your vessel.

Live and artificial baits are both allowed during the event. Use what works for you.

Acceptance by each team to participate in the event gives the Florida Flatsfishing Association, Inc. the right to
film the participants and use the reproduction of their image and voice.

Saturday afternoon procedures-
All vessels must report back to the Riverside Cafe dock for final weigh-in procedures NO LATER THAN
2:00pm. Do not be late. We will start the weigh-in at 2:00pm. If you are not there by 2:00pm, you are disqualified from the weigh-in process.

We will start weigh-in with the teams in order of readiness, under directions of the two FLFA dockmasters. Ties will be broken by "time of check-in."

Live & dead fish will be eligible to obtain a weight. Dead fish will receive a 1-pound dead fish penalty for this
tournament. Fish must swim off on their own power for a “live status”.

“One fish per bag” is the rule. When fish bags are issued to your team, place your fish in the bags and you will
be walked from your vessel to the stage area for the weigh-in process with all of your single heaviest fish of the
eligible species from the days fishing.

You will be escorted to the stage where your fish will be relieved from you by event staff, and we’ll then do a
short interview with you about your fishing experience from the event, and weigh in your fish.

Event staff will hand you back your fish for immediate release by you once a weight has been obtained.

You may be requested to return to the stage after you have released your fish…

The award ceremony will promptly start at 3:30pm, so please be back to Riverside Cafe's stage area
by 3:30pm.

Any flagrant violations of any of the rules listed above will have a maximum penalty of expulsion from the 2012 Florida
Flatsfishing Association’s Inshore Circuit Series Slam Fish-off. The FLFA board will be the only
governing body to determine suitable reprimands upon the angler for any rule violations.
